JOHN J.  PINEDA of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully from this earth May 22, 2003.  Surrounded by his loving family, friends and loyal Labrador Retriever, Jackie.  With determined strength, courage, and dignity, John battled cancer for over 19 years, never burdening others with his health problems or pain.   He was a highly intelligent person, with a sweet sense of humor.   He was extremely loyal and protective of his family and friends.  John was always willing to help someone in need.  His credo was, "I may not have done what was popular, but what I felt was right." His passions were riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, spending time with family and friends.  As a 24 year veteran of the Houston Police assigned to DEA, John worked hard to make the City a better place.  His time in the US Army was a proud time for John; he would have gladly stood up in line again.  He is preceded in death by his "brother" Mondel "MADDOG" Martin, Ricardo "Chalupa" Rodriguez and others that rode with Los Carnales/La Familia MC.  He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Stephanie, his son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Renee', his son, Sean, father, John, mother, Rose, brother, Alan, sister-in-law, Judy, LeeEtta, sisters, Denise, Susan, Paula, brother-in-law, Robert, Jan, nephews, CJ, Anthony, Robert, nieces, Michelle, Renee, Molly, and Maggie, grandson, Devin, father-in-law, Rex, mother-in-law, Judith.  Along with his partner Tory Tyrrell, HPD and Group 3 DEA, and many other family members and friends.

I first want to tell everybody who made the South Padre Island trip how proud and happy I am that everything went so well.  I would like to personally thank Magnum, Recon & Dogman for guiding us to and from during this road trip.  I can only imagine the pressure placed on them to maintain safety of such a large group for such a long period of time.

For anybody who may not have heard, on October 13, 2000, members of the LCMC/LFMC (Houston) and a large amount of independent drivers met at US 59 and Grand Parkway for a road trip to South Padre Island.  During the trip, it seemed that the motorcycle precession continued to grow larger with each stop.  I'm guessing that we numbered as much as 100 motorcycles, travelling as one very large group.

On more then one occasion, I noticed vehicles passing we (the group) taken photos and/or video taping everywhere.  I was a great feeling to be part of such a great group of people.

On Saturday, the same group of people travelled into Mexico.  We were such a hit with the local people, I heard that the group was invited to stay the night with a local restaurant offering to put the group up a nearby hotel.  I know for fact that everybody had a great time at a local bar, which was selling most drinks of 75 cents.  We later returned to the restaurant and had a very good meal before returning to South Padre Island.

Once on the Island, LCMC/LFMC dominated any bar/ restaurant that we went to.  We were greeted with open arms place.  It was a true sign of Brotherhood.  Everybody looked out for each other.  What can I say but: POR VIDA.  The cry for the weekend was "We're going to party all night long."

Well, I guess I bored you guys enough.  But it was something I had to say I was very proud to be part of the great weekend with true Brothers & Sisters.  Love to everybody and see you soon.

POR VIDA, Kahuna
